New Delhi, Nov. 12 -- Soon after returning from Bhutan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital in New Delhi to meet the victims of the Red Fort car blast, which claimed 13 lives.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday formally took over the probe into the explosion that rocked the area near Red Fort on Monday evening. Security officials suspect the attack to be a fidayeen (suicide) strike linked to the Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).

Police sources said the car involved in the explosion was driven by Dr. Umar Mohammad, who allegedly planned the attack with two associates.
