Kochi, March 11 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects worth around Rs 11,000 crore in Kerala, focusing on infrastructure, green energy, and employment generation.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister highlighted the foundation stone for a new polypropylene unit at Kochi Refinery, which is expected to produce around four lakh tonnes annually and support industries including packaging, textiles, automobiles, and medical devices.

He emphasised that expanding the petroleum sector is crucial for advancing the Make in India initiative and India's self-reliance goals.
