Shillong, April 29 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi today virtually inaugurated the state-of-the-art Indoor Cricket Academy at Madan Kurkalang in Meghalaya's Ri-Bhoi district, marking a significant push to strengthen sports infrastructure in the State.
The Prime Minister also virtually inaugurated similar indoor cricket academies across four more northeastern states - Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, and Mizoram - while the facility in Sikkim was inaugurated in person.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Jay Shah, Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), along with BCCI Office Bearers and senior officials, while administrators from the other five North-Eastern states joined via video conference.
