Muscat/New Delhi, Dec. 18 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tarik, graced the signing of the landmark Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the two nations, at a ceremony at Al Barakah Palace today. PM Modi described the FTA as "a new and golden chapter of bilateral cooperation".
The pact is designed to significantly enhance bilateral trade and investment cooperation between the two nations, streamline the movement of goods and services, and expand the framework for collaboration in key strategic sectors covering energy, technology and manufacturing.
The CEPA was inked by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and his Omani counterpart Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef.
