Shimla, Sept. 9 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi today undertook an extensive aerial survey of flood-ravaged regions in Himachal Pradesh to assess the large-scale devastation caused by recent torrential rains.

Clear skies after days of heavy rainfall allowed both the survey and intensified relief and rescue operations across the disaster-hit states.

The Prime Minister arrived at Pathankot Airbase in the morning and proceeded by helicopter to review the flood damage in Himachal Pradesh's worst-affected districts of Mandi, Kullu and Chamba.
