New Delhi, Feb. 25 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday morning departed for his two-day state visit to Israel, a trip that is expected to sharpen the strategic edge of India-Israel ties, with an upgraded security partnership high on the agenda.

The visit, his second to Israel after the landmark 2017 trip, comes at a time when both countries are looking to deepen cooperation in defence, technology and trade, while also pushing forward negotiations on a proposed free trade agreement later this year.

In his departure statement, the Prime Minister said, "At the invitation of my dear friend Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, I will be undertaking a state visit to Israel from 25-26 February 2026."Describing the relationship as dynamic ...
