Kolkata, Aug. 22 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi today accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of opposing the newly introduced Constitution (One Hundred and Thirtieth Amendment) Bill, 2025, claiming the party fears its ministers could be unseated under the proposed law because of their alleged involvement in corruption.
Addressing a public meeting at Dum Dum Central jail ground in Kolkata, Modi said the Bill was aimed at ensuring that no elected representative could continue in office while in jail on serious criminal charges.
