New Delhi, Nov. 21 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday hailed the implementation of the Four Labour Codes, calling them one of the most comprehensive and progressive labour reforms since India's independence.

The new Codes officially came into effect today, replacing 29 existing Central labour laws. The Ministry of Labor and Employment stated the reforms are designed to simplify regulations, expand worker protection, and modernize India's labour framework to better reflect current economic realities.
