Kolkata, April 30 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the loss of 14 lives in a fire at Burrabazar in Kolkata's central business district and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured from the Prime Minister National Relief Fund.
"Anguished by the loss of lives due to a fire mishap in Kolkata. Condolences to those who lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon," the Prime Minister wrote on his official X handle.
"An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakhs from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000," he added.
