Chennai, Aug. 14 -- The Indian private space sector officials were in disbelief or baffled on knowing it was a `zero bid' that got PixxelSpace India-led consortium the mandate to launch and operate 12 satellite constellation for earth observation.
The bid was called by the private space sector regulator Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) and the result was announced on August 12.
IN-SPACe had announced PixxelSpace India led consortium comprising of Piersight Space, Satsure Analytics India, and Dhruva Space has been selected to launch a constellation of 12 earth observation satellites over a five year period.
Several space sector officials raised serious concern about the zero bid and its effects.
