Kolkotta, May 13 -- A PIL was filed in the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday questioning the alleged funding of the recently consecrated Jagannath Temple at Digha in East Midnapore by the West Bengal Government. The Public Interest Litigation was filed by Advocate Kaustav Bagchi, a BJP functionary, before the division bench of Justices Soumen Sen and Smita Das De, challenging the funding of the construction of a religious place by the government under the secular system of the Constitution. The bench has admitted the petition, sources said. The petitioner also demanded that the matter be heard on May 19.
