Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Aug. 6 -- Twenty-five daily-wage labourers sustained injuries, eight critically, when a pickup truck veered off-road and smashed into lemon trees in Adul Khurd Shivara of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district today.

The vehicle (MH 20 EL 3384) was transporting 27 workers from Abdullapur (Tanda, Paithan taluka) to Adul when the driver lost control at a sharp bend. The impact threw occupants against the cabin as the pickup collided with two trees.

All injured - including driver and labourers - were rushed to Pawar, Mauli, and Sai hospitals in Adul. Eight critically wounded were later shifted to Chikalthana's Ghati Hospital for advanced care.
