Manilla, July 15 -- Philippines President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. approved the proposed PHP 6.793 trillion (USD 119.82 billion) budget for 2026, Presidential Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said today.

In a news briefing, Castro said the proposed budget reflects the administration's commitment to enhancing the quality of education and improving the lives of Filipinos.

In June, the Development Budget Coordination Committee approved the proposed 2026 national budget, which is equivalent to 22% of the country's gross domestic product. The proposed 2026 budget will be submitted to Congress in August.
