Pune, Aug. 14 -- A petition expressing a potential threat to the life of Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi was withdrawn from a court here in Maharashtra today.
The application, filed by Advocate Milind Pawar on behalf of Rahul Gandhi, cited concerns over alleged controversial remarks made by ruling BJP MPs.
The comments reportedly suggested that Rahul Gandhi could face a similar fate to his grandmother, Indira Gandhi, and also referred to him as a "terrorist."
The petition was filed against the backdrop of Rahul Gandhi's recent protest march to the Election Commission office, where he alleged voter fraud.
