Kasaragod, Dec. 11 -- A pet dog was killed in an explosion near the house of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate at Kumbadaje near Badiyadukka, on Thursday. Following the incident, Police and the bomb squad conducted a raid and recovered three country made bombs from the spot.
The incident came to light when one of the explosives went off after the pet dog bit it, killing the animal. The explosion occurred on the agricultural land belonging to K Prakashan, residing at Kadraballi.
Prakashan, who is contesting as the CPI(M)-led LDF candidate in the Badiyadka division of the district panchayat, was reportedly at home when the blast occurred in the morning.
