London, Nov. 3 -- Wolverhampton Wanderers dismissed head coach Vitor Pereira after aten-game winless streak in the Premier League so far this season.

Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Fulham marked Wolves' eighth league loss of the campaign, leaving the Midlands outfit bottom of the table, eight points adrift of safety.

"Upon his arrival at Molineux last December, Pereira and his coaches made an immediate impact, guiding the team to a successful second half of the Premier League campaign," the club said in a statement released on Sunday.

"However, results and performances this term have fallen below acceptable standards, and as a result a change in leadership was deemed necessary," the statement added.
