Hyderabad, Jan. 6 -- Telangana IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu on Tuesday asserted in the Legislative Assembly that people's lives and a clean environment must take precedence over industrial progress, clarifying that the Hill Policy and the Hyderabad Industrial Land Transformation (HILT) policy were framed in line with judicial principles.
Participating in a short discussion on the Hill Policy, the Minister said the policy was based on the Supreme Court's observations and urged opposition parties to rise above politics on the issue.
He rejected allegations of hidden motives, stating that the government's sole objective is to protect public health and the environment.
