Nagpur, Nov. 13 -- A growing threat from tigers and leopards in Vidarbha and Western Maharashtra has led to an unusual social crisis that families are refusing to marry their daughters into villages where big cat attacks have become common.
According to sources, the frequency of tiger attacks in Vidarbha and leopard attacks in Western Maharashtra has risen sharply in recent months. Victims have included men, women, and even small children, creating an atmosphere of fear in several villages.
Despite the persistent danger, villagers continue their daily lives, though anxiety remains high. In many affected areas, parents of prospective brides are reportedly declining marriage proposals from families living in these high-risk zones.
