Chandigarh/Shimla, April 20 -- A financial logjam is intensifying between major health institutions and the Himachal Pradesh government, as crores in pending dues under the Himcare and Ayushman Bharat schemes remain uncleared.

The situation has now prompted calls for official reminders and possible legal action, as per the Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed between the concerned parties.

The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI), Chandigarh, has provided cashless treatment to 1,478 patients under the Himcare scheme but is yet to receive a payment of Rs 14.30 crore from the state government.
