Shimla, Sept. 2 -- Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) is facing a huge backlog of recoverable dues from Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and other power projects, with the outstanding amount standing at over Rs 1,177 crore as of March 31, 2025.
According to official records placed before the Assembly, dues have been pending for decades from several hydropower projects set up in the state after 1990. These include Budhil, Tanganoo Rumai, Tidong-I, Holibajoli, Chanju, Kuther, Bharmaur, Harsar, Rampur, Baspa-II and others.
