Mumbai, Nov. 22 -- A major political realignment is emerging ahead of the upcoming Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections, with opposition parties formulating a strategy that may leave the Congress isolated.

Nationalist Congress Party (SP) president Sharad Pawar has decided to contest the elections in alliance with Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) following a meeting of party office-bearers on Saturday.

Pawar has extended support to both Uddhav and Raj Thackeray, and has advised Congress to join hands with Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS.
