New Delhi, Dec. 19 -- The Parliament on Thursday night approved the Viksit Bharat - Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill, 2025 (VB-G RAM G) after the Rajya Sabha also passed the bill despite vigorous protests from opposition parties.

The bill, which was earlier passed in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, seeks to revamp India's rural employment framework by guaranteeing 125 days of wage employment annually to rural households, in alignment with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

The legislation restructures the funding pattern of the existing Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
