Bhubaneswar, Sept. 27 -- Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has achieved a historic milestone, recording 75 Million Metric Tonnes (MMT) of cargo throughput in the current fiscal year.

This marks the fastest 75 MMT ever handled in the history of all Indian Major Ports, highlighting the port's growing efficiency and operational excellence.

Cargo volume grew by 5.03 percent compared to the previous fiscal year, reaching the milestone within the first six months-10 days ahead of last year's schedule.

In key cargo segments, crude oil reached 17.22 MMT, up 19.34 percent from the same period last year,coastal thermal coal loading hit 22.51 MMT, a 4.3 percent increase while flux material volume rose to 2.97 MMT, growing 19 percent.
