Chennai, May 27 -- Panic gripped 30 visitors at a popular amusement park on the ECR on the outskirts of the city as they were stranded at a height of about 150 ft in a rollercoaster ride following a technical glitch on Tuesday evening.

One of the visitors, who was among those stranded beamed live visuals from the spot to a private Tamil satellite channel through a video call from his mobile phone a couple of minutes back.

The incident took place at the VGP Universal Kingdom, the first amusement park to come up in the city and set up by the VGP Group, on the ECR, which also houses other such parks.

He said 30 visitors were seated in two rows with each one containing 15 visitors.
