Agartala, April 30 -- Tripura royal scion and BJP's ally in the state government, TIPRA Motha's founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarman on Wednesday expressed concern over a decision to change the syllabus of Kokborok language (spoken by tribals) without using Roman script.

Over the decades, tribal parties and society have been divided over the script selection for the Kokborok language. While a section wants Bengali script, the majority favoured the Roman script, and recently, another group suggested using Devanagari script. The state government has left the issue for the tribals to decide.
