Bhubaneswar, March 11 -- Amid pandemonium in Odisha Assembly during the day,Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati was suspended from the Assembly for seven days for his unruly and indecent behavior.

Speaker Surama Padhy announced Bahinipati's suspension after a motion moved by BJP Chief Whip Saroj Pradhan, requesting the Chair to suspend him for seven days due to his disruptive behavior, was passed by a voice vote.

The Speaker directed the Assembly Marshal to evict Bahinipati from the House, barring him from attending proceedings for seven days.

BJD and Congress members demanded a voting process on the motion, but the Speaker rejected their request, prompting BJD members to stage a noisy walkout from the House.
