Mumbai, Nov. 17 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party's Maharashtra unit has deferred the planned induction of Kashinath Chaudhary, a witness in the Palghar sadhu murder case.

State BJP president Ravindra Chavan decided to postpone the process on Monday, party state spokesperson Navnath Ban confirmed during a press interaction at the BJP's state headquarters in Mumbai.

Ban stated that Chaudhary is a witness in the Palghar lynching case and clarified that his name does not appear as an accused in any investigation carried out by the Central Bureau of Investigation or the Criminal Investigation Department.
