New Delhi, Nov. 23 -- Palestinian athlete Mohammed Edweedar may have competed at the Olympics, but he is still without a sponsor and has to rely on support from World Athletics for getting basic equipment like spikes.

Currently on a visit to India, the 800-metre runner spoke to UNI on the sidelines of the Ekamra Sports Literature Festival, detailing the difficulties that he faces as a Palestinian athlete.

"We don't have a running track in Palestine, no competitions, and most of all, no safety, so training is hard. I got my new pair of spikes just two months ahead of the Tokyo World Athletics (September 2025).
