Jerusalem, Dec. 14 -- The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said it killed a Palestinian militant during a raid in the northern West Bank on Saturday evening.

The Israeli army said in a statement that its elite paratrooper unit carried out an operation in the village of Silat al-Harithiya near Jenin and the militant "hurled an explosive" toward the soldiers.

It said the soldiers responded with fire and killed the militant, with no injuries caused on the Israeli side.

On the same day, the Israeli military in Gaza killed Ra'ad Sa'ad, head of Hamas' weapons production headquarters.
