Srinagar, May 1 -- Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked small-arms fire during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday across the Line of Control (LoC), targeting scores of Indian posts in Jammu and Kashmir, marking the seven consecutive day of such firing.

The latest ceasefire violation happened despite directors general of military operations of India and Pakistan reportedly spoke on hotline on Tuesday. The frequent ceasefire violations over the last week threatens the February 2021 ceasefire agreement along the 740 km long LoC between the two countries

Army said last night the posts were targeted opposite Kupwara, Uri in Kashmir and Akhnoor in Jammu.
