Islamabad, June 20 -- Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the country has been striving to improve the healthcare system for a healthy future.

"Providing the best possible healthcare facilities to the people remains Pakistan's top priority. The country has been implementing enhanced health reforms, ensuring a merit-based and transparent approach across the board," the prime minister said while chairing a high-level meeting on national health affairs.

Talking about measures the government has taken, he said that the deployment of advanced technology to eliminate the illegal trade of medicines amid a zero-tolerance policy was successfully implemented with stringent oversight mechanisms.
