Benghazi/Islamabad, Dec. 23 -- : Pakistan has signed a sizeable military equipment deal with the Libyan National Army, with Islamabad confirming greenlighting the deal, despite the UN's long-standing historic embargo on weapons sales to the African nation.

Estimates of the deal's value range between USD4 billion and USD4.6 billion, making it one of Pakistan's largest-ever defence exports.

The agreement was finalised following a recent meeting in Benghazi between Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff - Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Lt Gen Saddam Khalifa Haftar, the LNA's deputy commander-in-chief.
