New Delhi, April 17 -- India today dismissed the Pakistan army chief's comments on Kashmir and said that Pakistan's "only relationship" with Kashmir is to vacate the illegally occupied territories.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, answering questions on the issue, said at a briefing:

"How can anything foreign be in a jugular vein? This is a union territory of India. Its only relationship with Pakistan is the vacation of illegally occupied territories by that country."

His statement comes after the Pakistan army chief General Asim Munir described Kashmir as Pakistan's "jugular vein".
