Islamabad, Feb. 28 -- A suicide blast at Darul Uloom Haqqania seminary in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday killed six people, including JUI-S leader Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani, and injured 15 others, media reports said.
The blast tore through the main prayer hall of the madressah in Nowshera district as worshippers gathered for Friday prayers, KP Police Inspector General Zulfiqar Hameed, the Dawn reported.
"It was a suicide blast. Three policemen were also injured in the attack," Hameed said.
Rescue officials transported the injured to nearby hospitals. The KP government declared an emergency in all hospitals and health facilities across Peshawar, approximately 70km away from Nowshera by road, the report said.
