Pak need 178 for victory, face challenging task
Multan, Jan. 26 -- Pakistan found themselves in a challenging position at the close of the second day of the second Test against the West Indies, with 178 runs required to win the match and clinch the series 2-0.
After 14 wickets fell for 320 runs on day two, following 20 wickets for 317 runs on Saturday, Pakistan's run chase began with a shaky start.
The West Indies, having gained a slender first-innings lead of nine runs, fought back strongly in their second innings, posting 244 allout in just two sessions.
With Pakistan requiring 254 for victory, the visitors suffered an early collapse, reducing their score to 5 for 2 in just 16 balls. By the end of the day, Pakistan had recovered slightly to reach 76 for 4 from 24 overs.
