Jammu, May 9 -- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday said Pakistan must stop aggression for peace to prevail.

"If innocent people of ours are harmed, the nation reserves every right to defend itself in any way," Abdullah here told reporters who rushed to Jammu to take stock of the situation following heightened tensions, drone attacks in Jammu and intense shelling in border districts of Jammu.

Abdullah said, "It is Pakistan which must stop aggression for peace to prevail. If they keep on taking the offensive, they are sure to suffer," adding he said, "Our forces are fully capable of giving a proportionate response."
