Chandigarh, Dec. 8 -- A senior minister in Pakistan has applauded the international impact of Indian Punjabi artists Diljit Dosanjh and Karan Aujla. Speaking at a Punjabi cultural conference in Lahore, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said the two performers have elevated Punjabi identity to a global platform.

Hayat told the audience that Punjabi music, once viewed through a narrow cultural lens, now commands worldwide admiration. According to him, Dosanjh and Aujla have been central to this shift, introducing the language and its sound to audiences far beyond South Asia.

He added that their songs enjoy as much popularity in Pakistan as in India and other countries.
