Rawalpindi, Nov. 18 -- Pakistan overcame early jitters to defeat Zimbabwe by five wickets in the opening match of the Pakistan T20I Tri-Series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Chasing 148, Pakistan slipped to 30/3 inside the sixth over after Brad Evans struck twice and Tinotenda Maposa trapped skipper Salman Agha (1). But Fakhar Zaman and Usman Khan steadied the innings with a 61-run stand that tilted the contest.

Fakhar's fluent 44 off 32 deliveries, studded with two fours and two sixes, set the platform, while Usman anchored the chase with an unbeaten 37 off 28. Mohammad Nawaz applied the finishing touches with a brisk 21 not out off 12 as Pakistan reached 151/5 in 19.2 overs.
