Rawalpindi, Sept. 27 -- In another legal setback for Imran Khan, Pakistan's Rawalpindi-based Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has refused a plea by the former premier's legal team to halt the proceedings in the May 9, GHQ Gate attack case, confirming that the trial will move forward despite several petitions still pending on the matter in Lahore High Court.

Khan's lawyers had approached the ATC on Saturday, urging that the trial not to proceed via video link until the LHC delivers its ruling. They argued that continuing the case under the current arrangement would be "inappropriate" and requested more time to study its legal implications, reports Samaa.
