Ranchi, Feb. 22 -- A paid holiday has been declared on February 23 in areas under Ranchi Municipal Corporation and Bundu Nagar Panchayat for the Municipal Elections 2026.
As per a notification issued by the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasha, Government of Jharkhand, all government offices, public establishments, shops and commercial units within the municipal limits will remain closed on polling day under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
Employees registered as voters in the municipal areas concerned will be granted paid leave, including daily wage and casual workers, under the relevant provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
