Nahan, Aug. 1 -- Scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendra have issued an important advisory for the paddy farmers of the district in view of the increasing outbreak of black striped dwarf virus in paddy crop. This virus has emerged as a serious threat especially in the lower and mid-hill areas.
This year, the outbreak has been reported from major paddy producing areas including Toka Nangla, Kedarpur, Zamani Wala, Surajpur, Nawada, Mishra Wala, Fatehpur, Kolar, Dhaulakuan and many other places in Paonta Valley of Sirmaur district.
This disease stunts plant growth and if not managed properly, can cause heavy crop losses.
