Shillong, Oct. 5 -- The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Sunday held a Pada Sanchalan (route march) in 24 locations across Meghalaya to mark the centenary celebrations of the organisation.
Around 1000 RSS cadres mostly youths from Khasi-Jaintia tribes who follow the indigenous faith- Niam Khasi and Niam Tre - participated in the foot march.
The route march which began from Balika Vidyalaya School, Keating road and concluded at Cantonment ground, Shillong, saw the heavy presence of police personnel who were posted throughout the route.
Speaking at the event, RSS Pracharak in-charge Pravin Shewale said, RSS' aim is to create individuals with cultural strength and build a strong nation through individuals.
