Sitapur, Aug. 16 -- A constable of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) lost his life today after sustaining bullet injuries while on duty at the Central Reserve Store in Sitapur.
The deceased, identified as Himanshu Singh, was posted to a watchtower when the incident occurred.
According to preliminary reports, his INSAS rifle discharged three rounds while he was on duty. Singh was found wearing earbuds at the time of the incident and is believed to have been on a phone call.
Colleagues rushed to the spot after hearing gunshots and immediately took him to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
