Kolhapur, Jan. 7 -- After 22 years Oxford University apologised for the James Lane book 'Shivaji: Hindu King in Islamic India, which consists of inaccurate and derogatory writings about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

According to Udayanraje Bhosale, MP, the content in the book written by James Lane has tarnished the image of Chhatrapati Shivaji and Maa Saheb Jijau.

A case was filed against it in the court. During the hearing, the concerned parties showed their readiness to apologise. The publishing house has written an apology.

After a 22-year struggle, this institution has issued a written apology to Chhatrapati's descendant, Kha. Udayanraje Bhosale. There was a major protest against this book by American author James Lane.
