Hyderabad, Nov. 25 -- An amount of over Rs 2,095 crore in unclaimed funds with banks was reported from the state of Telangana as on August 2025 against the total nationwide amount of unclaimed bank deposits standing at over Rs 67,000 crore.
The unclaimed amount lay across nearly 80 lakh dormant bank accounts where no transactions have been made for the past ten years, according to banks officials here.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched a centralized portal called UDGAM to help individuals search for unclaimed deposits across multiple banks.
