Hyderabad, April 19 -- In a major crackdown on drunken driving, Hyderabad Traffic Police and Cyberabad Traffic Police together booked over 750 cases during special enforcement drives conducted over the weekend.
Hyderabad Traffic Police, during a two-day drive on April 17 and 18, caught 440 motorists driving under the influence of alcohol. Of these, 376 were two-wheeler riders, 21 three-wheeler drivers, and 43 were four-wheeler and other vehicle drivers. Most offenders recorded Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) levels between 51-100 mg (200 cases), followed by 30-50 mg (91 cases) and 101-150 mg (79 cases). A few cases registered alarmingly high BAC levels, including nine above 300 mg.
