Aizawl, Dec. 21 -- Mizoram has completed more than 70 per cent of biometric enrolment of refugees from Myanmar who are currently taking shelter across 11 districts of the State, officials of the Home Department said on Sunday. However, the enrolment process for refugees from Bangladesh has yet to begin in Lawngtlai district in southern Mizoram, where the majority of them are housed.
According to official figures, of the 30,892 Myanmar nationals who have sought refuge in Mizoram, biometric enrolment has been completed for 21,325 persons, accounting for 70.15 per cent of the total.
