Kolkata, March 6 -- Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal Manoj Kumar Agarwal on Friday said that judicial officers have so far verified and disposed of information related to around 7.5 lakh voters as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in West Bengal.

Agarwal also said that more judicial officers will soon join the verification process.

"Judges from Odisha and Jharkhand will arrive on Saturday to assist in the work of verification and adjudication," he told reporters.

The SIR exercise in the state has drawn criticism after allegations surfaced that some living voters were mistakenly marked as "dead" and their names removed from the electoral roll.
