Guwahati, June 4 -- Floods have affected over 6 lakh people in 21 districts of Assam even as the flood-related death toll has reached 12, government sources said, adding over 1.66 lakh children are also affected by floods.
Incessant rains have also led to landslides in various parts of the state leading to the death of five people, including children, in the state capital Guwahati.
According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), surging waters have inundated 1,506 villages in 69 revenue circles in all of 21 districts. The flood waters have also affected 14739.39 hectares of agricultural land, some with standing crops.
