Agartala, Feb. 5 -- Tripura has witnessed a remarkable surge in flower production over the past seven years, driven by pro-farmer policies implemented by the central government, said State Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Thursday.
He stated that numerous initiatives have been undertaken to promote the growth of floriculture in the state, as the demand for fresh flowers has been increasing daily, which is now being met by the supply from West Bengal and Karnataka.
He emphasised the cultural and social importance of flowers in greetings, religious ceremonies, and celebrations, noting that Tripura's fertile soil and abundant rainfall provide ideal conditions for their cultivation.
